The rest of Matthew 9 illustrates cases in which Jesus provided healing. The commonality between all these is faith. The man whose daughter had died came to Jesus saying "come and put your hand on her, and she will live (v.18)." The woman with the issue of blood said "if I only touch his cloak, I will be healed (v.21)." The 2 blind guys said "have mercy on us, Son of David (v.27)."And those who brought the demon-possessed man to Jesus believed he was capable of delivering him from bondage. Jesus demonstrates his power in these situations. He was compassionate - that's the beauty of Christ. He lived among us, felt our pain, knew what we needed, and supplied those needs.
Life Application: Jesus is capable of proving himself in our lives but we still need to believe and have faith that He will come through. Just as Jesus was able to recognize the needs of those around Him, we should likewise be cognizant of what people around us need and offer help in any way we can.
Dear God, help strengthen my faith in you and help me to know that you a more than able to do miraculous things in my life. Please show me the needs of those around me and how I can help.
